Exciting Opportunity - Certificate II Tourism Adventure Camp

19/06/2017

BrisbaneSDE is offering senior students an opportunity to achieve a Certificate II in Tourism contributing four Queensland Certificate of Education points whilst enjoying a fully VETiS funded adventure on Moreton Island. Students must still be eligible for this funding. Year 10 student can apply, however, Years 11 and 12 will take priority.

This is a chance to learn great skills, acquire an appreciation of Australian Indigenous Culture and develop connections with other students and staff who can then be a source of support throughout your schooling.

You will be required to complete a theory component and must be willing to devote time to attend compulsory online classes after school. These cover topics such as ‘interact with customers’, ‘source tourism information’ and ‘show social and cultural sensitivity’. Collaborate sessions will occur from 3:00pm to 4:00pm Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. It usually takes six to eight weeks to complete the theory assessment.

It is important to be aware the school risks financial penalty for students who sign up but then decide not to attend, so you must be willing to commit to this.
