School Review

The achievement of better outcomes for students is a core objective of our school which is driven by a commitment to seeing each student learning successfully and working toward their potential. Our ambition is to nurture each student’s talents and to provide all students with the knowledge, skills, attributes and values they will require for successful ongoing learning and life beyond school.

At the heart of this approach is the concept of a continuous improvement cycle – a rigorous methodology for reviewing current school practices and outcomes; setting goals for improvement; designing and implementing school improvement strategies; monitoring changes in student outcomes; and reviewing and reflecting on the effectiveness of the school’s improvement efforts.

The BrisbaneSDE Explicit Improvement Agenda focuses on 5 school-wide critical areas of improvement:

  1. Engagement and Wellbeing
  2. Curriculum and Differentiation
  3. Innovative Pedagogy
  4. Literacy
  5. Performance

The outcomes that we seek to improve are not limited to student academic outcomes; they include a broad range of intentions, including better student engagement, greater enjoyment of learning and improved student health and wellbeing. The school functions as a learning community underpinned by a belief that, improvement is always possible.

To support our school in monitoring our continuous improvement cycle, the Department of Education School Improvement Unit will be conducting a review at BrisbaneSDE in the last week of this term (September 16 – 20).

This review is an important part of how the Department of Education supports and monitors schools. The review will provide our school with independent feedback, tailored to our context and needs. We will use the review findings to work with the school community and our region to develop clear actions to move the school forward.

Feedback from parents/home supervisors and the community is an important part of this school review, with everyone encouraged to have their say. To register your interest in participating in the review, please contact the Community Engagement Team
