Secondary student scholarships for university language vacation programs

​Applications are open for language students to attend programs at:

·     The University of Queensland Institute of Modern Languages Winter High School Program from 3–7 July 2017.
Students in Year 11 or 12 (in 2017) can apply for a scholarship to attend the program by completing the application form (DOC, 364KB) and Project Consent Form (PDF, 154KB) and emailing them to corinne.scholl@det.qld.gov.au no later than 9 June 2017.

·     James Cook University Academy of Modern Languages vacation program from 3–7 July 2017.
Students in Years 7–12 (in 2017) can apply for a scholarship to attend the program by completing the application form for either Cairns (DOC, 364KB) or Townsville (DOC, 366KB) campus and the Project Consent Form (PDF, 157KB) and emailing to corinne.scholl@det.qld.gov.au no later than 9 June 2017.

In January 2017, 121 scholarship students attended the University of Queensland Institute of Modern Languages (IML) program and 107 students attended the James Cook University Academy of Modern Languages (AML) program.

Feedback from student participants indicated the benefits of the programs in relation to career opportunities and future language learning.

Since the scholarship program began in January 2015, 524 students have enjoyed the opportunity to attend the very successful vacation high school programs run by IML and AML.
