Online Horse College are offering students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to study a fully funded horse course: AHC21216 Certificate II in Rural Operations (Horse Husbandry Assistant). They also offer other courses which incur a fee. For further information, contact Elena Simmons, VET Coordinator.
 
 
TAFE Qld South West are offering courses to distance and remote students in 2018. Students are required to complete the theory component online, attend one online lesson per week with the trainer, and attend 4 weeks on-campus in Toowoomba - 1 week block in Term 1, 2 week block in Term 2 and a 1 week block in Term 4. The TAFE as School Program Guide 2018 provides all details.
 
 
 Queensland School of Film and Television Brisbane are offering a Certificate III in Screen and Media to high school students.
  

 Central Queensland Uni is partnering with the Sunshine Coast Technical Trades Training Centre to offer Start Uni Now (SUN) courses. Two are being offered: Built Environment and Design Program and Aviation Studies. Both attract QCE points. Delivery is online, but you are required to be able to attend one workshop per term at the centre in Caloundra. 

 Central Queensland University has released it’s 2018 VET in Schools Guide. Most courses are face to face on campus, but there are quite a few online courses on offer. There are also subsidised courses with no fee payable. Application instructions are in the Guide. 
 

 TAFE Qld Gold Coast have released their TAFE at School Course Guide for 2018. To apply go to: www://tafeapply.com Enter the code: TQGC1801. An additional fully-funded course has been added to the course offerings for any student in Year 12 in 2018. It is HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance. The qualification will be completed over one year with 8 QCE points to be banked. Vocational placement and practical sessions are required to be done. Further information and instructions to apply can be found in this flyer. Rural and remote students are welcome to apply. Choose Community & Health industry area, then Certificate III in Health Services Assistance – Rural and Remote. For students who can access the Southport campus, choose Science & Allied Health industry area, then Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.

 
​ TAFE Qld Brisbane and Skills Tech have released their TAFE at School Program Guide for 2018​. Please note that courses may be added and deleted according to enrolment numbers etc, so the best way to know if a course is still being offered is to log on as if you are applying for the course and see if it listed in the drop-down selection area. Instructions for applying are on page 5 of the Program Guide.
Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure has just been added to the 2018 offerings by TAFE Qld Skills Tech at Acacia Ridge. Certificate II in Logistics has just been added to the 2018 offerings by TAFE Qld Brisbane, Loganlea campus.
 

 TAFE Queensland East Coast have released their TAFE at School Program Guide for 2018. Instructions for applying are on page 43 of the Program Guide. Note that BSB31215 Certificate III in Library and Information Services (online) and CUA40915 Certificate IV in Music Industry are not being offered. Two additions to the Hervey Bay campus are Certificate III in Screen & Media and Certificate II in Applied Fashion & Design.

  The Coastal Cookery Trade Training Centre has been developed out of a partnership between Maroochydore SHS, Nambour SHS and Burnside SHS to address the skill shortage within the commercial cookery industry on the Sunshine Coast. The Centre is located at Maroochydore SHS and has quality trainers, facilities and programs for students. TAFE Qld East Coast will be delivering the training towards Certificate II in Hospitality. If you live in the Sunshine Coast area, this could be the perfect opportunity to get started in an exciting industry.
 
 Expressions of Interest are now open for the School to Work Transition Programs. These programs prepare students for employment while they are still at school through structured workplace learning, including 20 days unpaid work experience and completion of a nationally recognised qualification. These programs are for students in Year 11 or 12 in 2018.  2 additional QCE points are earned for the 20 days’ work placement.  Contact Elena Simmons if you are interested in applying.
