BrisbaneSDE has a priority to ensure all students have access to high quality learning opportunities, differentiated to their individual needs. We are committed to inclusive schooling practices. Inclusive schooling practices are about maximising the outcomes of all students through identification and reduction of barriers to learning and extending students. A premium is placed upon supporting all students with suitable adjustments and curriculum provisions to ensure full engagement within the school community, and enabling students to work and achieve at their level. It is about setting high expectations, valuing and celebrating diversity and employing high quality, evidence-based teaching practices focused on success for every student.
Inclusion and Student Support
BrisbaneSDE's Inclusion and Student Support department (ISS) supports students with disabilities in prep to year twelve. The department supports approximately three hundred and thirty students with a range of curricular, communication and social and emotional supports. We achieve this by working collaboratively with teachers, parents and students to implement strategies and deploy resources.
