Students eligible to trial for Queensland Schools Sports Representative Teams must be approved by BrisbaneSDE before participation.
District and Regional Sports Update for all BrisbaneSDE families
Is your young person interested in representative sport? Is your young person a keen sportsperson? Does your young person want the opportunity to test their skills and possibly go onto regional/state/national level sporting competitions and representation? If yes is the answer to any of these questions, then BrisbaneSDE sport is wanting them!
As a school, we have the ability to nominate students in ALL districts and regions across the state due to our families living in all different areas within the state. This means that we are not limited to the one region which the school is situated in (Metropolitan East). 2022 sees the return of competitive sport for young people to be involved in and, as a school, we would like to support all our students in every way possible to be able to demonstrate their abilities.
The following sports have either trials, or nominations due before the end of Week 2. If you are interested in any of these sports, please contact Mr Hamish Pike (hmpik0@eq.edu.au) for further information. If you would like to know what sporting region you may fall into for trials (where the sport will be played for selection into a representative squad/team), the easiest way is to either send Mr Pike and email asking, or review any nearby State Primary/Secondary school's website – under sport – to see what region that school is located in. This is because each region has slightly different selection times and dates and this will help you with planning if wishing to nominate your student for the selected activity.
Urgent trial information / sports requiring nominations
Swimming – Years 10-19 Boys and Girls – times and paper nominations needed.
Team and individual sports:
- Tennis 13-19 Years Boys and Girls
- Baseball 13-14 Years
- Softball 13-19 Years Boys and Girls
- Golf 10–19 Years Boys and Girls
- Touch Football 13-15 Years and 16-18 Years
Many other sports will trial in March and April, and details about these trials will come out early in this term.

Paper nominations from parents are accepted by the school, and the school will support families wishing for their young person to participate in any Queensland School Sport district and/or region/state competition.
