Invitation and Payment

Frequently asked questions

1.	Can my parents/family attend?	Yes, you can attend alone or attend with family.
2.	Can I bring a date?	Yes
3.	Do we receive a physical ticket?	No, you won't receive a 'ticket' but you will receive a confirmation email.
4.	Do we need to get dressed up?	No, students are not obliged to wear formal attire (but everyone does).
5.	Is there parking? Is there an area to 'Drive up in a special vehicle for a photo opportunity'?	Yes, there is ample parking onsite. NB. Approximately a 2 minute walk to the function room. No, there is no 'Drive up' to the function space for a photo opportunity'. So if you are planning to hire a 'special vehicle' for your 'entrance' only the people that may be in the carpark will see it.
6.	Will there be a professional photographer at the formal?	Yes, the photographer will be at the venue from approx 5.30pm. Please note: Families staying for the function will have most of the night to have photos taken (the photo team will be available most of the evening). Please take advantage of this 'all night access. Parents 'dropping off' their student and leaving will be given priority pre function. Thank you for your understanding.
7.	I am a graduate and am 18, can I have alcoholic drinks at the formal?	No.
8.	Can I bring a date who is not a student at BrisbaneSDE?	Yes.
9.	I am completing a VPR but don't finish all subjects this year, can I attend?	No. Until you have completed all year 12 subjects you are not eligble to attend.
10.	I am based at another school and complete 1-2 subjects with BrisbaneSDE, can I attend?	No. Our Formal is open to students studying full time with BrisbaneSDE only.
Seating
1.	What are the seating arrangements? Can I sit with my BrisbaneSDE friends or parents/guests?	Yes, there will be student only table and tables with a combination of family and students. E.g. If your parents are attending you may wish to sit with them. You would be seated at a table with other students and their parents. If you are coming alone you may wish to sit at the student only table. The choice is yours.
2.	Can I identify other students I would like to sit with?	Yes, have a chat to the student you would like to be seated with (1 student only). There is provision on the Invitation and payment to nominate a student. If we receive a request from the student you have nominated with a request to be seated with you as well we will make every effort to faciltate your request.
Please note: The BrisbaneSDE Senior Formal is an alcohol free event. BrisbaneSDE celebrates and supports a diverse and inclusive culture.
